WHY ATTEND AWMIFF THIS NOVEMBER?

16 - 19 November 2022

Our young ones who are mostly educated from today's media have very few good examples left to emulate.
WE NEED NEW STORIES. We need to go back to our roots. Telling stories is the African way. We built and preserved our societies and cities around storytelling.
Yes, today, it might be different because we don't sit together under tall trees in the evening breeze, but, WE CAN, through the digital media reach across borders to our brothers and sisters in different countries to remind them who they are. WHO WE ARE!
- We can shape our leadership through storytelling.- We can encourage more women to aspire and take up leadership positions through storytelling.- We can encourage the entrepreneurship spirit and empower more women through storytelling.
AWMIFF is not just about storytelling, we are building women, we are building an African society that our children will be proud to inherit.
As an annual get-together of visual storytellers across the globe AWMIFF is providing the latest innovations in our rapidly changing world. AWMIFF was created by two media enthusiasts who believe in using media as a tool for social change. Join us on this mission. Contact the Festival Directors directly on: awmiff@gmail.com
